The CESA College Counseling Institute seeks to bring together like-minded counselors from high-performing Christian schools to grow together in our ability to provide the very best in college counseling to our school families. Knowing the needs and values of our school families are often quite different that those in non-sectarian independent schools or public schools, this Institute will provide the best content with our larger mission at the center of all we do.
This year in St. Louis, we will engage in sessions that provide content and resources that you, our college counselors, have identified as areas of need. Some of the sessions include:
- Highly selective college admission strategy
- Spiritual life options in colleges
- Academic advising as college counselors
- College admission essay
- Career/skill interest assessments
- How to utilize standardized testing result to guide college major decision
- Mental health wellness programs in colleges
- Financial aid
- Test optional admissions
Additionally, a Christian College fair featuring mission-aligned and quality-focused Christian Colleges and Universities will provide a medium for networking.
Lastly, school visits to Washington University, St. Louis University, and Missouri Baptist will give us an opportunity to see the opportunities for our students in three very different settings.
Plan to arrive by 3 p.m. on Monday, April 24 for a 5 p.m. College Fair and Opening Dinner. We will conclude the afternoon of Wednesday, April 26th.

Monday, April 24th
- 4 p.m. - Hotel Arrival/Check-in (Early Check-in begins after 1 p.m.)
- 4:30 - 5 p.m. - Shuttle (multiple times) from Marriott St Louis West to Westminster (2 minute drive)
- 5 - 8:30 p.m. at Westminster Christian Academy: Conference Check-In, Dinner with opening program
Tuesday, April 25th
- 7 - 8 a.m. - Breakfast at hotel
- Beginning at 8 a.m. - Shuttle (multiple times) to Missouri Baptist University (MBU) (4 minute drive)
- 8:20 a.m. - Welcome Address at MBU
- 8:30 - 9:20 a.m. - Opening Session
- 9:30 - 10:20 a.m. - Session 1
- 10:30 - 11:20 a.m. - Session 2
- 11:30 a.m. - 12:15 p.m. - Lunch at MBU
- 12:30 - 1:20 p.m. - Session 3
- 1:30 - 2:20 p.m. - Session 4
- 2:30 - 3:30 p.m. - MBU Admission Presentation & Tour
- 3:40 p.m. - Shuttle back to hotel (multiple times)
- Dinners on your own/with your team
Wednesday, April 26th
All Wednesday programs are at Marriott St Louis West
- 7:30 - 8:30 a.m. - Breakfast at hotel with Washington University in St. Louis Presentation
- 8:40 - 9:15 a.m. - FAFSA Updates
- 9:30 - 10:20 a.m. - Session 5
- Hotel Checkout
- 11:15 a.m. - 12:05 p.m. - Closing Session and lunch with Saint Louis University Presentation
- 12:15 - 3:30 p.m. - College Tours
- 3:30 p.m. - Shuttle to airport
